The Mind Has an Architecture
Before Adeoye Bammeke became an artist, he trained as an architect. His practice continues to draw from that way of seeing: through lines, geometry, proportion, structure and the relationships between forms.
In Divine Patterns of the Mind: Architecture of Thoughts, Bammeke turns that architectural gaze inward.
Across paintings on paper and canvas, squares, rectangles, intersecting lines and layers of colour become a language for thinking and feeling. His compositions move between order and intuition, structure and emotion, suggesting the ways our inner worlds are shaped by memory, experience and perception.
Rather than prescribing a single interpretation, Bammeke leaves space for the viewer to make their own connections. A shape might recall a place. A colour might bring back a memory. A composition might feel familiar without being immediately recognisable.
The exhibition brings together Bammeke’s most comprehensive body of work to date, marking his first major solo presentation.
