Live music performances are returning, as routine part of the bar and lounge experience in Lagos

Below, a select list of some of the most, must-not-miss of the offerings this weekend and the next..


Ade Bantu, Live @the Brewery

Featuring: Ade Bantu and the Afropolitan Vibes are performing this weekend

Date: Friday, July 23rd, 2021 Venue: Bature Brewery, 256 Etim Inyang, near Cool FM Victoria Island Ticket: Reservations, or Show Up Early. Time: 7pm to 11pm.

 

 

Cool Ice Band, Sunday at Sailors

Featuring: Lekki’s ultra cool Cool Ice Band with Afrobeats mix

Date: July 25th, 2021 Venue: Sailors’ LoungeAdmiralty Road, off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1. Phone: +2348026832333 Ticket: None, but this is the most heavily attended weekly event in Lekki Phase 1. A seaside venue known for its grilled fish; the seats are quickly taken. Time: 8pm to 11pm.

 

 

Tuesday at Churchill’s

Featuring: Zee Grove Band clicks with the audience with a mix of R&P and Naija Afrobeats dance music. Churchill’s is at heart an English style pub bar, but its Tuesday evening is consistently memorable. Date: Tuesday, July 27th, 2021 Venue: Churchill’s, 5, Layi Yusuff, off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1. Phone:   Ticket: None, but the Groove band have a significant resonance with the audience. Time: 7pm to 11pm.

 

 

Gbedus First Full Live Performance at Gbedu Music Village

Featuring: Kola Ogunkoya and the Gbedu Masters at the brand new Gbedu Music Village, with visiting US based Ogunkoya himself superintending the proceedings. His big band, Afrobeat ensemble, plays full blown Afrobeat. If he keeps to the plan, to have this outing every first Sunday of the month, it will be the closest thing to having the feel of Fela Kuti’s music, on a regular basis outside the Africa Shrine.

Date: August 1, 2021 Venue: Gbedu Music Village, Lekki Expressway, near Ologolo Bust Stop Ticket: None, regular lounge atmosphere quickly taken. Time: 8pm to 11pm.

 

 

Beautiful Nubia in Concert

Featuring: Beautiful Nubia

The Yoruba folk influenced Afrofunk musician starts his three-city mini tour of Southwestern Nigeria in Lagos. Date: August 8, 2021 Venue: 51, Adekunle Fajuyi Way, GRA Ikeja   Ticket: 3,000, Time: 5pm to 9pm.
