Screen Out Loud presents También La LLuvia

In commemoration of the European Arthouse Cinema Day, Screen Out Loud and the Spanish Consulate, Lagos would be screening the multiple award wining feature film, También La Lluvia.

ART PERFORMANCE

Art Peformance: Asiwaju: The Journey Through Revealing the Woman

Lagos based visual artist, Taiwo Ayedogbon whose work cuts across many media will be performing her work on womanhood as part of a larger ongoing research on Nigerian women.

Date:  November 13, 2021. Time: opens 3pm  Performance -3:30pm.

Book Reading: Prisoner of Fate

Akin Akinbogun will read from his crime thriller, Prisoner of Fate at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos. The novel is a beautifully crafted crime thriller which discusses the underbelly of society.

Exhibition Talk: Itinerancy

Centre for Contemporary Art will host an exhibition talk as part of Abdulrazaq and Gerald’s exhibition. The evening of performance and conversations will be based on the idea of ‘KnowMads’ which is the title of the exhibition.

Art Exhibition:Experience the 2nd, by Kokopelli

Kokopelli Gallery will exhibit the art of young artists in a group exhibition. The exhibition is tagged ‘Experience the 2nd.’  The artists whose works will be exhibited are Agumadu Favour, Ekeh Onyinyechi, Opara Oyekachi Courage, Oluwaseun Akinlo, Odeyemi Oluwaseun Ezekiel, Obianeri Fabian, Aragbada Olayinka, Okolie Chukwunonso and Akingbade Oluwamayowa.

Art Exhibition: Home is Here and There

Drawing from glimmering careers in art spanning years, Bamidele George Agbezin, Nathalie Djakou Kassi, and Ben Osondu Onuorah look to explore migration within Africa and how this affects our choice of where we call home. The exhibition examines how Africans move within the continent; from one country to another, within the same country, from rural to urban areas.

Book Signing: No God Like the Mother

Nigerian American author, Kesha Ajose-Fisher is dedicated to amplifying the voices of some of the most vulnerable members of our society. She knows that many of life’s burdens fall heaviest on the shoulders of Women, and she seeks to expose this reality in her writing. She will sign copies of her award winning debut collection of fictional short stories, No God Like The Mother, which delves deep into the lives of women who are expected to keep the world turning, all while bearing the brunt of its hardships at the Roving Heights Bookstore.

Art Exhibition: Ìfihàn by Pelumi Ponmile

Contemporary Artist, Pelumi Ponmile will be exhibiting some of his works at the Department of Fine Applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as part of his Master of Fine and Applied Arts degree requirement. The exhibition, curated by Ayodele Ibiyemi will feature paintings, drawings and collage works.
