Art Exhibition: Genometrics: The Struggle, The Pain, The Victory of Sickle Cell

An exhibition that explores the struggles, joy and victory of warriors living with sickle cell disease by showcasing the their lives, lifestyles, and lifelines. It cascades through intricate struggles for breath to torrents of pains into the deep sense of victory. It’s about hope.

It’s presented through the combined works of  OlalekanOlafusi and Okunrin Meta in film, photography and abstract paintings, and mixed media sharing experiences about sickle cell disease. Organized by SAMI, a nonprofit in partnership with Rise Support Consults and Olalekan Olafusi, the event will have daily activities involving Book Reading, Spoken Word, Photography, Dance Expressions, Painting and Networking Classes for Children and Adults, Karaoke and more. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting people with sickle cell disorder through Sickle Cell Advocacy and Mgt Initiative (SAMI).
