Passengers In Transit

20.04.2024 – 24.11.2024

The Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos (CCA Lagos), founded by Bisi Silva, is set to make a significant mark at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia with its exhibition, Passengers in Transit.

Scheduled as a Collateral Event of the Biennale Arte 2024 “Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere”, this showcase brings together five Afro-descent female artists from Africa, the Caribbean, and the USA, exploring the intricacies of foreignness, identity, and belonging in our global society.

Drawing inspiration from Angolan writer José Eduardo Agualusa’s homonymous storybook, the exhibition, curated by Paula Nascimento, Oyindamola Faithful, and Roger Niyigena Karera, weaves together diverse narratives that transcend geographical boundaries.
